Our Story

Who We Are

Pranee Legal was founded in Hua Hin with a deliberate purpose: to provide thoughtful, accessible legal counsel to families dealing with personal and cross-border matters under Thai law. The name Pranee carries a sense of life and quiet renewal — qualities we believe should be present even in the most difficult legal situations.

The practice grew from a recognition that family law in Thailand, particularly for expatriates and mixed-nationality couples, is often more complex than clients anticipate. Documentation requirements for international marriages, the procedural demands of Family Court, the emotional weight of separation — these situations call for more than technical knowledge. They call for a counsellor who listens carefully and moves at the pace the client needs.

Our work covers three interconnected areas: cross-border marriage documentation and registration, divorce negotiation and settlement, and full court representation with appellate cover. Each mandate is led by a senior advocate who remains the client's single point of contact from the first conversation through to resolution.

We are based on Naresdamri Road in Hua Hin, serving residents and expatriates across Prachuap Khiri Khan province. In-person consultations are the norm for us — we find that face-to-face conversation leads to a clearer understanding of what each situation involves and what the realistic options are.

How We Work

Our Professional Standards

Thai Bar Membership

All advocacy is conducted by lawyers duly registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand, adhering to the professional code of conduct governing Thai legal practice.

Strict Confidentiality

All client information is held within the attorney-client relationship. We do not share case details with third parties without explicit client consent, and all physical documents are stored securely.

Transparent Engagement Letters

Before any work begins, clients receive a clear written statement of services to be provided, fees applicable, and the scope of the mandate. Nothing proceeds without mutual understanding.

Bilingual Capability

We work in both Thai and English. For other languages, we coordinate with accredited translators. Cross-border matters often require documentation in multiple languages, and we manage that process end to end.

Regular Case Updates

Clients are kept informed at each material stage of their matter. We do not wait for clients to ask — we communicate proactively, in plain language, about what is happening and what is next.

Data Protection

Client data is handled in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). We maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information throughout each engagement.

Our Approach

Values That Shape Every Engagement

Family law touches some of the most personal areas of a person's life. At Pranee Legal, we approach each matter with this in mind. We do not rush clients toward decisions; we present the available options clearly and allow each individual to move at their own pace.

Our experience with cross-border family matters in Thailand spans both the procedural requirements of the Thai court system and the documentation expectations of various consular authorities. This gives us a practical understanding of where delays arise, where documents are commonly rejected, and how to prepare matters so that the process moves forward with the least disruption possible.

For clients navigating separation or divorce, we approach negotiations with a view to resolution that is workable for both parties. Prolonged adversarial proceedings rarely serve the interests of either side, and we are candid with clients about the likely trajectory of their matter and what settlement options may be worth considering.

Court representation, when it becomes necessary, is conducted with the same attention to preparation and communication that characterises our other work. We believe that well-prepared clients — who understand the process, the likely questions, and the realistic range of outcomes — are better placed to participate in their own proceedings.
